Product Description

The lightest waterproof down jacket we've ever built. Provides complete weather protection in ounces with puffless Thindown® technology. Revolutionary new Thindown fabric replaces traditional, high-loft down clusters with ultrathin down sheets, eliminating the need for quilting or channels. It also creates maximum thermal efficiency without bulk and, since the down is uniform throughout, there are no cold spots. You get all warmth, no puff, in a simple, streamlined design that delivers superior technical performance.

NOTE: Temperature ratings are based on a controlled laboratory test, using low and moderate activity levels. Also consider: your sensitivity to cold and wind-chill; time of exposure; activity level; and use of layering.

I first bought the Evertherm thindown jacket for mountaineering and backpacking I loved its versatility, warmth, and how lite it is! The BC Evertherm was created and I jumped on buying the waterproof version. My Son and I have a trek scheduled for Everest Base Camp April 2021 and I will use the Evertherm and BC Evertherm as my go to jackets in all weather conditions. I first watched "Adrian Ballinger's" review and various climbing videos, Adrian was sporting the Evertherm and BC Evertherm on his climbs I was sold! If you don't know who Adrian Ballinger is google him he is as legit as they come in the mountaineering World, I have the utmost respect for what Adrian has accomplished as a mountaineer. Do not hesitate to buy the Evertherm or BC Evertherm both are great durable product!

Really like this jacket, lightweight, and warm to the bone. I don't like the front collar, it is quiet large when you don't have the attached hat cover to your head. It does look odd with both end staying up.

    Very Pleased!

Wore this through most of an Ottawa, Canada winter and was very impressed. There was about 10 days when I chose to wear a warmer coat which was my Downlight Alpine Jacket (Big brother to the Down Light Hooded Jacket) and sadly no longer available). Initially I purchased the Evertherm Hooded Jacket but it was returned. This one costs about 50% more but is well worth it. For one thing you get 50% more insulation a better shell material and an exceptional bibbed hood. For adjustability it is one of the best hoods I've had and can be pulled down over my eyes in a cold rain or easily pushed back without further adjustment. Amazed at the range of temperatures this coat is comfortable in. I put it on tonight for a 1 hour walk in 50 degree temperatures and left it fully unzipped for the whole walk. But I was prepared for the rain which was expected and there was a strong north wind. I've also worn it lots of times in the 10 to 20 degree Fahrenheit range and it excels. I wear a sweater under it when it's colder and a t-shirt when it's warmer. Have not worn it with another coat underneath. When it's colder than 10 degrees, I break out my Downlight Alpine Jacket. I took this coat on a recent trip to California specifically to have for a whale watching trip and was glad I had it when the boat was offshore. Light and packs down good. You do need to stay active to stay warm in this coat so keep that in mind. For standing or sitting around you'll do better with a puffy jacket. You feel how thin the material is and you think it will never keep you warm but I often unzip it part way when the temps are in the mid to upper teens Fahrenheit. If when I get cold zip it up and put up the insulated hood. I've worn it about an hour in the rain and it performed well plus it dried quickly afterwards. Very pleased and would definitely purchase again.

Questions & Answers
  • Q: Does this have a 2-way front zipper?
A:No, this jacket does not have a 2-way front zipper.

  • Q: My husband is short but stocky and typically wears an XL or XXL shirt. What size jacket should I buy him? We live in upstate NY and winters here can be windy and frigid
A:I would recommend starting with an XL. We built this jacket intending for it to be worn with a base and mid layer, so naturally it will be slightly bigger around the chest and waist. I am 6'1 and 185 pounds and fit well into a Medium.
