Caring For Your
Down Outerwear

Caring For Your
Down Outerwear

• Always follow the care instructions for the specific style you own. These instructions can be found on the care label that’s sewn into the garment on the interior side seam. They are also included on our website’s selling page for the garment. • Secure all garment closures, including pockets, before laundering. • During machine washing, be sure your garment is rinsed thoroughly so that no soap residue is left in the down. • Always tumble dry your garment thoroughly along with a clean tennis ball, using LOW HEAT. Never allow your down garment to remain wet or damp. • At the end of the cold-weather season, store your down garment loosely in a closet or chest. If covered, use a breathable fabric such as cotton or mesh. Do not store your down garment in a compressed form, and do not place it in a plastic box or bag. Plastic doesn’t breathe, and this can damage the down.

Down outerwear has been a source of pride at Eddie Bauer since 1936 when Eddie invented the first down jacket patented in America. Every one of our down garments has specific care instructions that are unique to that style. These are listed on the care label sewn into the garment on the interior side seam and are also included on our website’s selling page for that garment. In addition, the following instructions are for the general care of all down-insulated garments.
