Fit is great

5

I'm 5'1, 125-130 lbs, 34B chest but with very broad shoulders and large arms (I was a gymnast and diver, and now I swim frequently for triathlon training). So while I take a 0-2 in pants, I'm usually a size 6 in jackets. I think this fits great on the shoulders, which is a problem I virtually always have--even with other Eddie Bauer clothes. The cut is great, and the stowaway hood is really useful. I have the older version in size small, which doesn't have down on the back, but I tried this new version in the store, and since it fits the same, I plan on buying it once it goes on sale. I think the price is a bit high, but on sale, it's absolutely worth it. I use this for all sorts of outdoor activities--hiking, xc skiing, running, alpine touring, a layer for downhill skiing, etc. I notoriously run cold, but in ~20F weather, this is perfect with a lightweight long-sleeved shirt underneath for any high-output activity. For anything from 10-20F degree weather, I wear a heavyweight fleece-lined long-sleeved shirt. Again, I have no problem layering even thick long-sleeved shirts underneath, which is a minor miracle. My current jacket has started to pill a bit, but this happens on any type of clothing when you are active and wearing a backpack, so I'm not too surprised. I think the new version will help with that.

So disappointed!

This jacket was exactly what I was looking for in a jacket for running outside in the winter. When it arrived, it fit like a dream -- until I zipped it up all the way. I couldn't zip up to my chin (necessary in cold-weather running) without choking! I have never had an issue before (almost 60 years!) with a tight neck in an article of clothing. I'm 5'8", about 145 lbs. and my frame is standard medium -- not a huge person at all. I ordered a Large because I don't like my clothing too restrictive. So I exchanged for an XL and unfortunately, it was massive and I had to return everything. What the heck happened? This jacket was perfect in every other way and I can't find anything else out there that fits the bill. So sorry it didn't work for me.

Ok jacket, depends on what you use it for

I have been looking at this jacket for awhile and ordered it when it went on sale. I wanted a running jacket that would work in 20-30 degree temps over a good base layer. This is not it. It is too lightweight for much warmth even with a good base layer. Part of the problem is the sleeves are just material, no wind block, no insulation. I will use this jacket to look fit and stylish at yoga or a fitness conference but not for running or anything activity in cold weather.

Really like it

Really comfortable for sports. Doesn't restrict movement. Kept me warm enough in 40 degree weather.
