I was shopping for a commuter coat to shield me from the elements and keep me warm while waiting for public transportation. After reading many reviews I learned that a "windproof" coat would contribute to warmth, and a zip-up zip-down feature relieves, when seated, stress on the seams, zipper, and fabric. Eddie Bauer's "Girl-on-the-Go" raincoat caught my attention (there are 2 versions of this coat, one with a liner and the other without). In the Mid-Atlantic region temps have fluctuated from the 20's to the 60's with rain, snow, crisp fall days, and warmer afternoons. With that said, I purchased the raincoat with the removable liner. Two of the reviews I read were particularly helpful because they included measurements. Their comments helped me decide on a size large. The coat is comfortable and attractive and it fits beautifully. In design, it is slightly shaped. The waste is a band verses a single seam and this adds to the gentle shaping. The high neck kept out wind, but when unsnapped remained modest. The hood is generous, but sat perfectly over a baseball styled cap. In a light rain the drops beaded on the fabric and I was able to gently brush them off. As far as movement, with a light weight turtleneck and cardigan, I didn't feel constrained or bulky, but was well insulated on a 25 degree and very crisp morning! I ordered the blue coat for several reasons, one of which was that the "Eddie Bauer" logo (at the wrist) appeared to be a subtle, lighter shade of blue. Though the logo is not bright white, it is noticeable. I would have preferred it not be on the outside of the coat.Measurements: 5'5", 140 lbs, 36-33-39. I am pleased with this purchase. The reviews were a blessing, and the ordering was straight-forward. I tracked the order using to tool provided by Eddie Bauer, and the package arrived when promised. Thank you.
Why is a "Nickname" requisite?
