At first I was leery. It is so lightweight! I used this coat to travel through Europe in November and December. It kept me warm and is definitely waterproof! I like that it is longer than a jacket and has two zippers. Makes getting in and out of transportation easy.

Autumn-Spring jacket

I pulled it out of the package and my daughters first coment was " it looks like underneath layer of a jaket " and it sure does in a cute way. I desided to test it in a mild cold and out I went... and again my dear friends asked me jokingly why was I wearing a shirt in this cold. I was insisting it would keep me warm but alas... after 20 minutes of normal walking I was chilled and concerned about my health. Came home, put another jacket on top with ease ( since its so light) and this kept me very warm, I could go to North Pole with this combination :)))

really warm

This coat has been great so far in about 10 degree weather for walking. With just one or two thin shirts it's warm and definitely more comfortable than a huge puffer jacket

I wanted to Love

I wanted to love this coat - I wanted it, stalked it online, was obsessed with it, ordered it, and am now returning it. While I still love the concept, and the execution on the technical side, I cannot help but be stunned at the styling. The charcoal gray is not "charcoal", or dark as online - it is an unflattering, muddled cement color that just fell flat. Then, there was the material - weird and parachite-y, and kind of noisy, swishy thing. I considered re-ordering in black and hoping for the best, but the exterior fabric reminds me a bit of a cheap plastic bag - this would likely only look like a garbage bag with a black jacket. My biggest issue with the jacket is the cut/styling. The colors are few and drab, the material is highly questionable, but the cut is potentially the worst thing about this jacket. Even though there was an attempt to cut the jacket so it had a waist, it still looks like I pulled on a garbage bag, or someone's old coat-liner. It wasn't a sizing issue, either. I think EB was going for a minimalist thing, here (I like simple clothes - I have a figure that generally looks good in simple, tailored clothing), but the lack of any kind of stitch, or line, or dart, or design, combined with the structureless, parachute-y material was the worst visual ever. Even a person tucked inside a sleeping bag would look more visually interesting. With so many EB coats having such lovely structure, ribbing, tailoring, contrasts, appealing colours and lining, this was a collossal let down. I really wanted this jacket - wanted the special new technology, which is super-light and feels amazing. I am a veteran of a half-dozen EB coats and a huge fan of EB. But I looked like a sad, sad bag-lady in this. Please, EB, come back with a 2.0 improved version next winter - with better colours and styling. I'm really bummed for missing out on this coat - I want the technical solution it provides, but there's no way I'd wear it out in public, current state.
