Nice Coat but NOT a winter jacket!

Despite the other reviews that say this coat is lighter than expected, I went for it because I really like the design, and the fact that is is down but not "puffy" and hopefully feathers won't be popping out. I am still keeping the coat for a Fall/Spring coat, but the reviews are spot on and it is a very light coat. I am in Upstate NY, on Saturday I had on a tank top, flannel shirt, sweater, and light zip hoodie underneath the coat and I was still really cold. This is unlike almost all of the Eddie Bauer coats I've had in the past so it's a bit surprising. That said, it's still a really nice coat, nice design, it's waterproof and wind resistant so I will enjoy it in the warmer weather.

Great Jacket

Love this jacket for its comfort in the car, lightweight for packing and reasonably warm. I also own the Cirruslite Down Jacket (I purchased before I received the Ever Therm as a gift) and find the Ever Therm lighter and warmer. My son bought one and loved it so much he gave several family members this jacket as a Christmas gift. It is not as warm as some jackets I have for the snow but warm enough, especially if you layer and very comfortable to wear in and out of stores. I liked it so much I bought one for my husband and he loves it.

Loving This Jacket

I got my jacket today. It has been between -4 and 18° this week in New York. I have worn this jacket outside briefly and stayed pretty warm. The jacket is ultrathin and I am able to wear a light wool sweater or base layer underneath. I am also able to wear this jacket underneath my Eddie Bauer Stadium jacket. The drawstring at the waist helps to adjust the fit at sides.

Water Repellency lacking

I bought this jacket in September at the recommendation of an Eddie Bauer Associate for a trip to Iceland. Mainly bought it because it was lightweight, packable, and they said it would keep off the moisture and wind better than a down jacket with stitching. It was a little more money than I normally would have spent but a needed a jacket for the trip that would be warm, and keep the wind and water off. It is wind resistant but it is not very warm, I wore a heavy fleece underneath and that was OK. My big complaint is that I have worn the jacket less than 10 times, have not washed it, and I wore it out in the rain today and it got soaking wet. For having durable water repellency it did not last very long. That was one of the justifications for spending >$200 for this jacket is that I could use in rain and snow after the trip. Very disappointed in this product, can get other lightweight packable jackets for a lot less, they should classify this as water resistant
