This is a very thin and light down jacket (and is priced accordingly). Don't be fooled by how puffy and thick it looks online. This won't keep you warm outdoors in the winter if you live in the northern climates where winters do get below freezing. I have a much thicker down parka for that. I bought this to wear indoors as we keep our thermostat pretty low and it's great for that. I could also see this keeping someone warm in the milder winter climates (40-50 degrees at lowest) or in fall or spring weather. It's very light and compressible, great for travel. A few feathers came out on the first day, worried if it will continue to be a problem as some have suggested. Zipper is a little hard to pull up. Otherwise, it's well-made, ethically-sourced, very comfortable. Not flattering on the figure as with many puffy jackets. I'm 5'4" 106# and the XS regular fits nicely with room for a hoodie inside.
