Live Your Adventure®

The lightest waterproof down jacket we've ever built. Provides complete weather protection in ounces with puffless Thindown® technology. Revolutionary new Thindown fabric replaces traditional, high-loft down clusters with ultrathin down sheets, eliminating the need for quilting or channels. It also creates maximum thermal efficiency without bulk and, since the down is uniform throughout, there are no cold spots. You get all warmth, no puff, in a simple, streamlined design that delivers superior technical performance.

"The look, feel, weight, fit is absolutely amazing! I skied down with the hood on and it felt like a cocoon in there. It's the perfect insulation."
Caroline George, Eddie Bauer Alpine Climbing Guide (IFMGA), after testing the BC EverTherm while backcountry skiing in the Swiss and French Alps

NOTE: Temperature ratings are based on a controlled laboratory test, using low and moderate activity levels. Also consider: your sensitivity to cold and wind-chill; time of exposure; activity level; and use of layering.

Ok....but

Shopped at Denver, CO. EB for over 50 yrs. That store is gone now. I still have my first, hooded (super heavy) down parka - 1968, made in Freeport ME. Everything "back in the day" was made by EB in the US and very good quality; life-long, to - be-cherished items; metal zippers! All I ever had to replace were the cuffs. Having anything by EB was a really big deal.... then. But they did not provide Womens clothing; only mens--so us gals had to buy a guy's items ....and deal with a Man's fit. This specific jacket is just ok----made in Bangladesh. Everything these days is out-sourced and pricey. Sleeves are long; hook and loop closure at wrists weird; shoulders big; chest tight. How will I "layer" ? What were they referencing as a "model" I wonder. Not too long; very light; nice "pimento" color. Adjustable hood, and waist; odd sizing. I normally wear a size small, but the sleeves would be way too long in a medium. EB is too much on making technology a "thing" , appealing to hipsters, and less on quality products. Pity!Maybe it's generational but I am not overly impressed with their inventory. I will keep this and deal with the gum-popping 12 year olds who run their stores..... " So basically, like yeah", if I return it. My personal jury is out on this for now..so I cannot recommend this product. They do stand (how far?) behind their products and guarantee their products. If it performs on the CT and PCT (need water proof, hooded, light, and down- warm) I'll keep it for sure. For reference, I am 5'6", 118 lbs--puny.n brown, Houston, TX

Great jacket but...

Great looking, light weight, black is coal black, sleeves long enough, adjustable wrist closure, inside pocket, overall the jacket is perfect BUT it is long and needs double zip. Eddie Bauer, hope you are listening!!

Not as expected

I'm a little bummed. I was expecting a super warm jacket. The temperatures here in New Jersey have been in the single digits and teens and I definitely feel those temps when wearing this jacket. Maybe I needed to size up to wear additional layers underneath. In addition, while I like the idea of the velcro on the sleeves to customize the opening, the adjuster kept getting caught whenever I attempted to put a bag on my shoulder. I think adding an interior sleeve to fit snug on the wrist would be a good feature.

Kept me warm skiing at -15°C!

I have been skiing in the Italian & Swiss Alps this past week (Cervinia and Zermatt). This was the maiden voyage for this jacket and I was worried I would be cold - the temps have been -20°C in the mornings. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it kept my temperature regulated. I layered with long underwear and a ski sweater, balaclava and helmet. Perfect! The bright orange color is great on the slopes. The only improvement I could suggest is to have a zippered pocket on the left forearm for my RFID lift ticket - makes it easier to wave the gate open for the lifts.
