Jackets on a plane

4

I like to have pockets to the ready when I fly. I also like to have an extra light layer for airports/airplanes because I often get chilled with the air conditioning. For the past few years I've been wearing an old chambray worksheet that is the right weight and length and has one breast pocket. But it is not smart looking, just practical. I saw this jacket on sale and when I read the review that said that it was too light and not a warm enough jacket, I thought I would try it. I was still concerned about all the reviews indicating that it was a snug fit. So I ordered it with fingers crossed. The weight of the fabric is perfect for my needs. It is light but it still offers some protection from rain (except there's no hood!) The olive color works for me. Lots of pockets, just what I wanted. I've actually been wearing it for my morning bus commute lately as well. I bought a Large (my usual at EB) and it fits fine through the chest and shoulders. I wish this either was slightly more A-line or that it had a 2-way zipper. I wear a size 14 curvy pant and this zip up over my hips but it looks ridiculous, way too tight. But worn open it looks nice and is pretty fashionable. I can dress it up with scarves as the weather cools. Another win for me with Eddie Bauer. Thanks to everyone else who has provided comments!

Size up

Very lightweight jacket, waterproof, but doesn't provide much warmth for the chilly days unless you wear a sweater under it. That is why I would recommend to go up a size. I found it tight across the back and I wasn't able to fit anything thick underneath.

It has it all.

I love the fit, the weight, the feel, the six pockets, the high collar; just what I wanted in a summer jacket. Great for layering and fending off mosquitoes. Don't know why you call the color black - more like heathered charcoal - which I also love.

not for my body-type

This jacket is a shirt-weight fabric. More of a fashion layer. The upper body was quite tight on me. I do have a larger bust and shoulders, but even though I wear mostly a medium, I tried the large and it was still snug. There is zero give/stretch, so it is not really "active" for movement. The elastic waist just hits too high on me. Not at the waist, but more under the bust. Overall not very flattering and not comfortable. Will be returning. Very high quality. If you are very slim it might fit nicer.
