This pack is legit

This pack is the best! My first test of this pack was a summit of mount Yale, a 14er in Colorado, via its east ridge, a route not for the faint of heart, with it loaded up to 40 pounds in 45 mph winds and -20 degrees. I was cutting through trees off trail and dragging it on rocks on the ridge and it stood up just fine. I have summited six other 14ers this winter with this pack, I have taken it to the baking canyons of Fruita and Moab, I have taken it kayaking down the Colorado River and just about everything in between. It been my go to for hiking, rock climbing, ice climbing, mountain biking and kayaking. I have had it loaded up to 70 pounds in its 55L configuration and hiked 20 miles with 5k elevation gain every day for a week straight and it has withstood it all and doesnt appear to be phased by my abuse. This one is a keeper. I sold my arcteryx pack because this one outperforms it in every way. Eddie Bauer has really stepped it up with their first ascent line, and this pack is a prime example of that.

Not Load Bearing...

Bought this pack for an expedition and after only 5 or 6 *training* hikes with 40lbs in the pack the bottom has already started to rip out. This is with a padded load, no sharp edges and it has only gone from my car to my back. Obviously its not suited to take on any kind of over night trip. Very expensive to have not even bothered to reinforce the bottom!

Excellent design & materials

Good for 1 or 2 day approach & as very light summit pack (with BFF removed)

One world is enough

Poor sizing

I am disappointed that my 5'7" 145lbs frame doesn't work with this pack. They should really make at least 2 sizes. I got the chest strap tighten all the way and the should strap still put pressure on the outer shoulders. I have tried adjusting chest strap up and down but it doesn't do much.
