Super tough feeling, but durability issues

Looking for a pair of pants for skiing, saw these pants with eVent fabric and was stoked, I had an eVent jacket before, and it was one of the best WP jackets I've owned, and you could practically go running in it and it would never get clammy inside. I also purchased the Alpine jacket, and was similarly excited about how durable the jacket felt. The fit on the pants is awesome! I can see why some don't like the little belt but it seems to work fine for me. I'm 5'10 and 215, with a fairly muscular frame and the Large size is perfect! not too snug, not baggy. I've used the pants about 5 days of resort skiing, and they have proven waterproof on the outside, and seem to be tough pants. But, after these 5 days, the backer fabric on the inside of each pant leg where the boots are has already worn through to the waterproof membrane. I have a pair of Columbia pants from 20 years ago, that show zero signs of wear from ski boots. So either they're not meant for skiing, or they're just not cutting it on durability. The other potential issue is the thigh pocket using what looks to be a second layer of eVent fabric for the actual pocket, even though the zipper for the pocket is waterproof. The problem, which I've faced with the Alpine jacket is that that it doesn't breath in double layer. So you end up with a damp spot on your leg, at least I do. The jacket is a lot worse, with the entire front panel will become cold and damp, no matter what activity level, and even with pit zips opened. Really disappointing. I wanted to love these pants, but if this limited use is exposing durability issues I'll be returning them. The Jacket will be returned.

Following the review of one customer I selected a large as I'm the same size as him who ended up getting a medium. Wrong. I should've ordered the XL like I usually do.

Non adjustable waist line

Waist size runs 34+ with belt loops, no adjustment straps. These pants are incredible, full featured, durable. The mandatory belt is the kiss of death. Who wants to wear a belt in a harness?

Suit of armor in the mountains

I initially ordered these in large, but exchanged for medium. I'm 6'2", 190, 33" waist. Size medium is roomy enough for both a base layer and the EB guide pants underneath without feeling snug. Ive also used these with a heavy fleece pant as a stand alone insulating layer. These fit great and feel bomb proof. These pants won't leave on wondering if you brought enough protection from the elements. Other pants I've used get pretty thrashed along the hem due to crampons, rock, etc. Pricey, but these are ready to take a beating.
