Good enough. Needed a jacket quick.

This is my third Eddie Bauer jacket for skiing. All were the 3-in-1 type jacket, which is the only kind I buy. Things are too changeable to stock my ski locker with multiple jackets. The first was the best (no longer available) -- a whole system of liners and vests that could zip in to the shell. That lasted a good long time. The second, I think it was a Mountain-something model, only lasted three seasons before the zipper, one of those waterproof coil types, came apart, detaching from its tape. I've learned now not to buy that kind of zipper! The thread holding the coil just wore out! So, mid season I suddenly had to replace the jacket. This jacket at least has a different type of zipper. However, it is longer, and really needs to unzip from the bottom so I can sit in the car. Also, the powder skirt is blocked from being usable by the liner. You'd have to remove the liner to hook it to itself. If I don't need the liner, it's spring, not a powder day! You could use the liner not as a liner, but an inner layer by detaching it from the shell, I suppose. I also miss having a chest pocket for my phone. Now it is in my sleeve pocket, which is annoying and not as warm. The inner pockets do not have zippers. Yes, they are deep, but if I'm going had over heels in snow, I don't want to lose my phone, I want a secure pocket. The main reason I buy Eddie Bauer is I need a larger size and other brands don't offer what I want in anything remotely my size. If this jacket doesn't hold up, I'll be looking around, but where? I don't feel the quality is what it used to be. I've had to sew the lining to my ski pants (also EB) because it was just melting away. My first Eddie Bauer parka I had for 40 years!

Poor quality

2

I was in need of a new waterproof down jacket and Eddie Bauer came highly recommended by a friend. I was so excited and couldn't wait to try on the jacket when I received it. However, the excitement turned very quickly into disappointment after a week of wear due to the down shedding heavily. The down was not only clinging to the top layer but also went through the base layers. Out of all my down jackets by various brands, EB was the worst for shedding. The poor quality of this down jacket was not worth its value. I ended up returning the jacket even thought I really liked the color and fit.

Very disappointed

Very Warm!!

Very warm, stylish. The black/grey has just enough of a pattern to make it interesting. I typically take a petite small, though petite medium allows for room for layers and still doesn't look too big.

Well-Designed Jacket but Color Selection is Unimpressive

Needed a new, warmer ski jacket and this one fit the bill, but I just couldn't get over the color. I ordered the purple and looked like a giant eggplant in it. That McDonald's character Grimace came to mind. The combo of dark purple and reddish orange interior was OK, but I would've preferred them in reverse. You want bright colors for a ski jacket, and the dark teal was prettier, but why couldn't we have done some color blocking?? Just a little bit of contrast would be nice. Ultimately I decided to return since I knew I'd only wear it in daylight or while skiing, and never while walking the dog at night. It's just too dark. Instead I got the Women's MicroTherm 2.0 Storm Down Jacket (XLT) in Peacock (dark teal) and layered it under the Women's All-Mountain 2.0 Shell Jacket (XLT) in Wave (really pretty bright blue). They don't zip into each other like this 3-in-1 jacket does, and are more expensive in total, but they work well together and I vastly prefer the color combination. For size info, I am 6 ft. tall, 210 lbs., 38H chest, and usually wear a 14 in dresses, 12 in pants. I ordered both XL Tall and 2XL Tall, and was sorta between sizes. The 2XLT was loose in the waist and hips, and while the XLT fit better, it was fairly snug across the chest, so I wouldn't have been able to layer much under it. I'd say the sleeve and torso length was good, though I would've preferred it a bit longer in the torso. If you're curvy and between sizes, order both and see which you prefer.
