Men's MicroTherm® 2.0 StormDown® Jacket

Live Your Adventure®

Perfection Evolved. Version 2.0 of our premium ultralight has an improved fit that's more comfortable and mobile, a slightly longer length for added coverage and warmth, a softer fabric to further enhance the comfort, and a secure drawcord hem to seal out cold and fine-tune the fit.

As an ultralight insulating layer, the MicroTherm is thinner than traditional down jackets. But that combination of minimal bulk and effective warmth is what makes it special, and is the result of its patented construction and the exceptionally high-loft StormDown that it holds close to the body for maximum thermal efficiency.

low quality jacket

The quality of the jacket is very bad especially the sticking and the outer fabric. It sheds a lot of down feathers everyday especially around stiches and find the outerfabric is very fragile. I used to love Eddie Bauer and first ascent products for a long time but lately the quality has gone down significantly. I wish I can get the same quality of products which I used to get a decade ago.

Love it so far!

To start, I'm around 5'9", 175lbs, and a Medium in this jacket gave me a nice snug/athletic fit. The large fit as well but it was more of a relaxed fit and I didn't think it looked as good.I've been wearing this jacket a lot since I bought it, and I don't have many complaints. It fits well, which allows me to wear it to work and other dress-casual situations, and makes it comfortable as you're not dealing with extra fabric. It allows me to wear it as a midlayer under a shell or other jacket as well. The stretch panels under the arms and on the shoulders allow full range of motion in this jacket, and allow some heat to dump under the arms. For a down jacket at this price, this jacket breathes pretty well. I can wear it on it's own walking the dog down to about 32 F, and could easily take this down into the teens on it's own with moderate activity. For casual use I'm able to wear it up to about 45 F without getting too hot, so the jacket is very adaptable, resulting in it becoming my go-to jacket when I walk out the door. Unzipped, it's also cool enough to wear inside or in vehicles, which I'm not able to do with any of my other jackets, as I run very hot. The pockets are not insulated, if that's something that you're looking for. Also, the zipper garage at the neck/collar is very comfortable, which is something I've had problems with in other jackets. It doesn't snag my facial hair, and it's flexible when moving your neck around. The only complaint I have is that it's a bit snug at the waist/ very bottom of the jacket. Also, the feathers consistently come out of the stitching, which I don't really find acceptable at this price. I got this jacket on sale, so at the price I paid I'm very happy with this product, and would recommend it to a friend!

Great fall jacket

It's an excellent jacket. Only issue is I thought it would have a little more padding. It will be a great fall and spring jacket in rainy Virginia. But definitely not warm enough for sub 40 degrees

Best coat. Great fit!

Love it! Great fi! Super comfortable! Highly recommend!
