Perfection Evolved. Version 2.0 of our premium ultralight has an improved fit that's more comfortable and mobile, a slightly longer length for added coverage and warmth, a softer fabric to further enhance the comfort, and a secure drawcord hem to seal out cold and fine-tune the fit.

As an ultralight insulating layer, the MicroTherm is thinner than traditional down jackets. But that combination of minimal bulk and effective warmth is what makes it special, and is the result of its patented construction and the exceptionally high-loft StormDown that it holds close to the body for maximum thermal efficiency.

The quality problem

I have been wearing this jacket for more than a year so now is the second season. From the beginning, down feathers have been coming out from stitches. In the second season, it is more obvious and visible. Because I wear the Uniqlo down vest under the jacket, the inner color has been changed. While I like the style, the manufacturing quality is the MAJOR problem of this jacket. I will switch to LL Bean in the future.

Not so rip proof, weird fit

I loved this jacket because the color and fit was awesome, but it started to shed a lot of feathers and there was a significant rip at the base of jacket due to wearing a backpack on my commute to Brooklyn. Eddie Bauer exchanged my jacket, but this year's model fit was very different. The sleeves were baggy. Im bummed because no other competitors have a similar color pattern as the storm color. I just wish my orginal jacket held up to moderate use.

The best jacket you will ever buy

I could waste your time with all the reasons I like this jacket but I won't. Put simply this is "Best jacket you will ever own" suitable for City Life, town and country life, hiking and climbing. Warm and breathable makes it's perfect for Autumn, winter and spring. It due have some issues the stitching can get pulled, or pocket stitching can cause the zipper to pull off. Even with these small issues, there is no better jacket that money can buy.

Feathers, Insulation...EVERYWHERE :(

As a loyal EB customer, I really wanted to love this jacket. After looking for a low profile, thin yet warm hooded jacket minus the bulk—I thought this was a winner. However, after one wear, feathers quickly began leaking from ALL over this jacket. Due to the poorly stitched seams, insulation also began coming out as well. Any time I wear the jacket, my clothes are covered in feathers and feathers are everywhere. Simply put: I can't recommend this jacket due to the poor construction and constant leak of feathers & insulation.
