No quilting. No cold spots. This is down. Revolutionary new Thindown® fabric replaces traditional, high-loft down clusters with ultrathin down sheets, eliminating the need for quilting or channels. It also creates maximum thermal efficiency without bulk and, since the down is uniform throughout, there are no cold spots. You get all warmth, no puff, in a simple, streamlined design that delivers superior technical performance.
"It's the best jacket I've worn: it's ultralight, warm, and slim."
Adrian Ballinger, Eddie Bauer Alpine Climbing Guide (IFMGA), after testing the EverTherm on Mt. Everest
NOTE: Temperature ratings are based on a controlled laboratory test, using low and moderate activity levels. Also consider: your sensitivity to cold and wind-chill; time of exposure; activity level; and use of layering.
Classic: A universal fit. Not too slim, not too relaxed on body. Designed to fit over midweight layers.

Had to get a jacket that is no longer made replaced. Love this new one just as much as the last! Great service and processing from the store and website.
Bought this as a mid weight jacket. It has exceeded my expectations! Soft and comfortable.
I wasn't sure if I would like this jacket. I couldn't believe it would keep me warm without the ugly puffy look of most down jackets. I bought a large-tall so that it would cover my butt. I don't like the short coats that seem to be all you can find these days. I planned to use it for skiing. I have a Spyder Jacket which I also love but the fleece lining makes it hard to get on and off over a sweater or other fleece. This jacket is easy on and easy off. It is light as a feather and I love to wear it, it looks great. It feels like half the weight of my Spyder jacket - which I love. So the supreme test of its down was wearing it the day we went up to the top of the Gobba di Rollin at 12,788 ft on the Italian Swiss border in the Alps. There was a panoramic viewing platform about 30 foot higher than the crest and there was a white out blizzard in progress with 31 mph winds. I was amazed that I didn't freeze to death in a short period of time. The only problem I have with the coat is that ordering a tall it is sort of confining while sitting down so I had a two-way zipper installed by my local tailor. It was quite a job and I ended up paying her half the cost of the coat for the job. But it made the coat practically ideal for me. The only the thing that would cause me to rate it five stars would be it coming from the factory with a two way zipper optional. I wear this coat everywhere and it is NOT hot in 50 degree weather. I love it. And it looks great. And so light!!
