Not one for writing reviews, but these boots are awesome.

Great boot. I always had a pair of these classic style boots and am glad it is coming back. I did not want to pay the big bucks for Danners. I tried these and they are great.

These boots are great! There is no issue with the tongue.

I thought heavily on whether or not to purchase these after reading all of the comments. I decided to because I've been looking for this style for years (yes, I had a pair in the '70's) and figured I could return them if not satisfied. When they came, I was more than satisfied! These are true to fit (size 14 here) and are very well made, real leather and a great thick sole. I started wearing these around the house and then out and about and they are very comfortable - no issues whatsoever!I can see where others could have problems though, if they are not experienced with buying real leather boots. These boots need to be broken in like a new baseball glove. During the break-in time, the boots should not be overly tightened which is easy to do with the speed laces. The classic issue in this scenario is the comment about the tongue causing pain 2/3rds of the way up at the seam there. If that is bothering you, loosen the boot, man! In a month or two once they are broken in, then you can crank down on the laces. As for comments about them being heavy, they are but I don't see that as an issue. Hiking in the cold and snow, I see that as an asset. To clarify one of the other reviews: 1 says that they fixed the tongue issue because he has a fabric tongue. I'm not sure that's true because I just got mine (1/12/19) and mine is still leather. I also don't see an issue with the tongue length. There is no way the laces are going to move off the tongue and the tongue isn't going to droop or move to one side because it is firmly sewn to the sides all the way up so nothing can enter the boot (as with normal shoes/boots where the tongue freely moves). which is great for hiking in the snow!At the end of the day, I highly recommend these. I will say that you need to realize that these are old school leather boots and will need time to break them in. Once they've been broken in, these will be like a pair of old dogs that you are going to want to take off!

Gorgeous and very comfortable boot

WOW...I bought these for the look and expected a good boot based on the goodyear welted construction and full grain leather. After purchasing, I read more and more reviews about the tongue problem and thought I'd see how it felt and return them if they were uncomfortable. Well, it appears they redesigned the tongue. I wore them brand new, without breaking them in for a full week in Breckenridge, Colorado (vacation). I hiked, walked for miles at a time, even jogged a few times and lounged for hours in the bars and restaurants there (gorgeous destination by the way...looks like a Hallmark movie town at 9,500 ft surrounded by 13,000 ft peaks!). These boots are very comfortable on me and work very well as true hiking boots ( I have a pair of Danner mountain light II as well (fantastic boot but 500+ dollars). You will get a lot of compliments as everyone likes the classic hiking boot style, plus the paprika colour really pops. I will be buying the timber colour too, as soon as it's available in my size. I really hope they make it in all black as well. Anyway, great boot at a great price, but like everything else...your fit may not be as good as mine.

Great quality retro hiker.

A very comfortable boot that takes me back to the '70s. They were THE boot to have along with a pair of ratty, bell bottom Levis. My only complaint is the short tongue which does not protect the wearers ankle from the laces when the boot is laced all the way up. After a while the upper lace starts to dig into the front of the ankle and is irritating. I'm taking the K-6's into a boot shop and having the tongue extended 3/4 of an inch.Any hiking boot should be tested by a retired infantryman before it's offered to the public. A "grunts" feet never lie :)
