The lightest waterproof down jacket we've ever built. Provides complete weather protection in ounces with puffless Thindown® technology. Revolutionary new Thindown fabric replaces traditional, high-loft down clusters with ultrathin down sheets, eliminating the need for quilting or channels. It also creates maximum thermal efficiency without bulk and, since the down is uniform throughout, there are no cold spots. You get all warmth, no puff, in a simple, streamlined design that delivers superior technical performance.
"The style, fit and weight are all fantastic; add the technology of the fabric and insulation and it's my top pick for any insulated jacket we've made."
Seth Waterfall, Eddie Bauer Alpine Climbing Guide, after testing the BC EverTherm on Mt. Rainier
Classic: A universal fit. Not too slim, not too relaxed on body. Designed to fit over midweight layers.
This jacket has kept me warm in -40 degree snowstorms in the far north and has proven well in the high winds and wind chill in Southern Ontario. Very thin and lightweight and surprisingly warm, windproof and waterproof. I chose to wear this jacket over my Canada Goose parka as it is much less bulky. The thindown really works.
I've had this jacket for the good part of 2018/2019 winter and have used it every time I hike. This jacket isn't made for people that want to stand around with their hands in their pockets, It's not a 800 fill down parka. I've been in 70mph winds with freezing rain coming in sideways and I was dry and warm. One of my favorite jackets!
I have been looking for an all around use jacket that was waterproof, insulated, wasn't puffy and could keep up with me on the trails while hiking. I can officially say that I have finally found it! I needed a jacket like this for when I go hiking during the colder months. I typically carry at least 3 jackets with me when hiking. One is a base layer jacket, another is an insulated jacket and then last is a rain jacket for random rain showers. It's great having all 3 with me, but when I have them all on while hiking it gets hot super quick. I can now wear a base layer and this jacket and be completely fine, no longer having to war 3. Keep in mind this jacket is to be used with a base layer jacket during the winter. It's warm, but is not meant to be a full winter jacket. it is a rain jacket first and foremost with some insulation inside. The insulation works well when you are MOVING, not standing around. Keep up the excellent work Eddie Bauer!
