"The BC Downlight is downright made right. I appreciate the extra length for keeping the belt/harness exposure zone warm and cozy. The piece is just lofty enough to keep me comfortable, but not so thick that it gets in my way. I love being able to wear it out in a messy snow squall without worrying about my feathers getting wet."

Fits rather large

I had high hopes for this jacket but it turn out to fit rather large. It was not the girth necessarily but the arm's length. We have been EB shoppers for many, many years but not having an EB in the city will make it very difficult to continue our patronage of the brand.

Great product

Had previously bought the Peak XV jacket but had to return because the sleeves were too long . This jacket , while not quite as warm , is the perfect size for me in the body as well as the sleeves . It is warm , wind-proof , and comfortable with layering underneath . i now have 8 Eddie Bauer jackets , and am looking forward to many years of wearing .

Down Jacket with Hard Shell All-In-One Jacket

I have not worn this outside yet. So my impressions are of the fit and finish and the features. I bought this because I wanted a hard shell combined with a down jacket. The cut is a little boxy, but this is OK so that you can wear layers under the jacket, I went up one size. The hand pockets are insulated, but only one side is lined with flannel. The pocket openings are unusually large, and the pockets are also oversized. I think the pockets are sized for gloves. The main zipper is a bit tight, but this is normal for waterproof zippers. The outer shell, while being waterproof, will also trap feather leakage. The stitching is very high quality, with no loose threads. The hood is also a nice fit without having to fiddle with the adjustments. There is a short brim to the hood. There are two very large drop in mesh pockets on the inside, perfect for gloves and hats. The inside zip pocket has a pass through port for ear buds. Instead of velcro cuffs, I would have preferred internal knit cuffs. When you put your hands in the hand pockets, the velcro tabs snag on the zipper. The jacket is not that puffy, plus the outer shell hides the baffles. With the sale, this jacket is a bargain. Based on the amount of down in the jacket, I would trust the temp ratings. The jacket will also puff up when you let the jacket breath for awhile. It is a little difficult zipping the jacket all the way to the chin, but the chin is not tight. The chin area is lined with flannel, and the flannel area is bigger than other parkas I have.

Awesome Down Jacket!!!

Kept me warm despite -20 degree Celsius weather and strong northwest wind! I'm 5 foot, 11 inches and weigh about 180 pounds with a 42 inch chest size and the Large fit me perfectly. The hood fit well and kept my head protected and warm. Waterproof zippers work very well. Have not had a chance to test the waterproof material as yet. Bought this coat on sale and have absolutely no regrets; outstanding value!
