I have not worn this outside yet. So my impressions are of the fit and finish and the features. I bought this because I wanted a hard shell combined with a down jacket. The cut is a little boxy, but this is OK so that you can wear layers under the jacket, I went up one size. The hand pockets are insulated, but only one side is lined with flannel. The pocket openings are unusually large, and the pockets are also oversized. I think the pockets are sized for gloves. The main zipper is a bit tight, but this is normal for waterproof zippers. The outer shell, while being waterproof, will also trap feather leakage. The stitching is very high quality, with no loose threads. The hood is also a nice fit without having to fiddle with the adjustments. There is a short brim to the hood. There are two very large drop in mesh pockets on the inside, perfect for gloves and hats. The inside zip pocket has a pass through port for ear buds. Instead of velcro cuffs, I would have preferred internal knit cuffs. When you put your hands in the hand pockets, the velcro tabs snag on the zipper. The jacket is not that puffy, plus the outer shell hides the baffles. With the sale, this jacket is a bargain. Based on the amount of down in the jacket, I would trust the temp ratings. The jacket will also puff up when you let the jacket breath for awhile. It is a little difficult zipping the jacket all the way to the chin, but the chin is not tight. The chin area is lined with flannel, and the flannel area is bigger than other parkas I have.
