Close to perfect

If these gloves had a little more insulation on the back of the hand, they would be perfect! (There are gloves manufactured with a 300g back of the hand, 200g palm insulation combination but I haven't seen them in this design.) The back of my hand (snow blowing etc.) is (IMO) where I believe these gloves could be improved. When gripping, the material on the back of the hand loses some of it's loft and most glove manufacturers are weak in this area of design. Other than this, the fit, grip, comfort, waterproof and heat retention kept my hands a lot more comfortable than others. Add some insulation and Make 'em Great!

Not as warm as the Guide Gloves

3

I live in Anchorage (AK) and got these for winter fat tire biking when the temps are in the low 20's and high teens. However, even when temps are in the mid/high 20's both trigger fingers get consistently cold and I found these mitts are not as warm as the EB Guide Gloves. These mitts are also not practical for riding with pogies.

Guide Trigger Mitts -- almost perfect, but ...

4

These Guide Trigger Mitts are almost perfect. The large size fits my hands well, as it should. The mitts are warm. The trigger finger isn't so tight that it restricts blood flow (a problem I've had with other trigger mitts). I would have given the mitts a 5-star rating if they had pockets for chemical hand warmers. Unless I'm very active, in bitter cold no glove or mitt keeps my fingers warm without the addition of chemical handwarmer packets. I'm surprised that Eddie Bauer, as experienced as the company is with high quality winter clothing, didn't include chemical hand warmer pockets in the design of these mitts. Given the price of these mitts, this is quite an oversight; thus, the 3-star rating for value. I expect the highest quality gloves to be expensive, but I also expect them to be of the best design.

Nice gloves but hands weren't as warm as expected

I thought these gloves would provide absolute warmth, thus the all most $100 investment. On a scale of 1-10, I'd give them a 7.5 for expected warmth.
