Live Your Adventure®

The lightest waterproof down jacket we've ever built. Provides complete weather protection in ounces with puffless Thindown® technology. Revolutionary new Thindown fabric replaces traditional, high-loft down clusters with ultrathin down sheets, eliminating the need for quilting or channels. It also creates maximum thermal efficiency without bulk and, since the down is uniform throughout, there are no cold spots. You get all warmth, no puff, in a simple, streamlined design that delivers superior technical performance.

"The style, fit and weight are all fantastic; add the technology of the fabric and insulation and it's my top pick for any insulated jacket we've made."
Seth Waterfall, Eddie Bauer Guide (AMGA), after testing the BC EverTherm on Mt. Rainier

My favorite jacket in the line

5

Love this coat for the fact that I can count on it no matter what kind of weather one might anticipate. The 20k waterproof rating handles all the rainy conditions the PNW seems to be so good at providing. Great piece for ripping at the local mountain, touring, ice climbing, etc. Pick your objective in the backcountry and this jacket can handle whatever the alpine decides that day.

Do people even bother to read?

4

I really wonder about people. Do people even read what these coats are designed for??? These coats are designed for when you're ACTIVE, not standing around/still. These coats are designed to FIT OVER LAYERS. If you're not going to be moving around, then buy the Peak XV or the Alpine Downlight Jacket. People come on here and complain about stuff when they never read what the coat was designed for. People, please read, read and READ. If you're active, want something waterproof and lightweight, its a great purchase. But once again, if youre going to be standing still, get the Peak XV or the Alpine Downlight Jacket.

Surprisingly WARM for it's weight.

When you first see this jacket the first thing your going to say to yourself is "it CAN'T BE WARM!" But you will be surprised the first time you wear it outside in cold weather. I'm talking about temps down to the teens. The jacket is light and fairly thin BUT traps a LOT of warmth inside especially if your wearing highly thermaly efficient base layers underneath. I am currently wearing it in the NYC deep freeze of 2019. The temps are down to single digits. I have to say the warmth is very impressive under these conditions. The shell fabric is Eddie's proprietary Weather Edge Pro which is super capable of shielding you from the heaviest downpours and keeping you dry.

Chilly for the money

I'd really hoped this would be my "warm" coat this winter, having just moved to Boulder. But, alas, I won't wear it when the temp is below 30F as I freeze to death. I'm 6.0 and 165 lb., and I had to buy another coat to stay warm (MR Powder Search 3-in-1). I did buy the coat on sale at 50% off. It's worth that. Barely.
