Product Description

Another reason why snow days are so great—there's no "Brrr!" with this jacket. It's ultralight, and super warm, thanks to the 550 fill Premium Down insulation. And if you're not sure that level of warmth will be needed, you can pack the jacket down into its own small stuff sack and stick it in a backpack, so it's always ready.

Features
  • Responsible Down Standard (RDS)-certified down insulation. Certified by Control Union. More About RDS

Worried about warmth level and tearing

I ordered two of these jackets for my boys ages 7 and 3. They arrived today. They were very attractive and extremely light weight as advertised..but seem much too thin for Minnesota winters. They're supposedly rated good to -10f..it gets much colder here than that but kids usually don't go out then. I became nervous at how thin & delicate these feel. There were no reviews here so I checked reviews on other sites. Many mention these not being warm if its colder than 40 degrees, immediately shedding huge amounts of down, jackets falling apart after one wash, and jackets tearing with normal use within weeks of purchase.. I have an Eddie Bauer parka myself as does my 10 year old & we love them, but I am unsure we will be keeping these cirruslite down jackets. Im going to sleep on it. I usually think of quality when I think of Eddie Bauer but this time I'm pretty nervous. Would probably be a fine kids jacket if you live somewhere where it stays above 30 degrees and you layered. I am disappointed..we usually get a blizzard on Halloween and I wanted warm jackets in time for that. I will update my review later as to whether we kept them and if so, how they held up in frozen northern minnesota.
