The next generation of our best-selling MicroTherm ultralight, this new hoodie features FreeFuse construction. Traditionally, inner and outer layers of fabric are stitched together and then quilted with additional stitching. But this jacket is made with a single sheet of fabric that's folded over and woven together in discontinuous channels to hold the down. This cutting-edge technique saves weight, maximizes breathability, helps reduce cold spots, and minimizes down migration.
The nylon/spandex stretch shell provides exceptional mobility and features a super-durable water-repellent finish that beads moisture. High-loft Premium Down insulation delivers sub-zero warmth in mere ounces.
Models shown are 5'9" to 5'11" tall, wearing size S/4 or XL/16.

Still have and use the two styles of the IgniteLite jacket for use as my insulating layer under my ski shell and other cool/cold weather activity. Wanted to upgrade to the FreeFuse down hooded jacket and I'm glad that I did. Bought it on sale and only had one chance to use it so far on my last ski weekend of the year in CO. Lightweight, but warm...almost too warm for the early spring ski season. The jacket is more fitted than relaxed, which allows it to fit well under a ski shell or a loose fitting rain jacket. The geranium color is bright. I walk my dog everyday on country roads with no sidewalks, so visibility will not be a problem! No sure why it works, but the stitching (baffles) on this coat help keep the down evenly dispersed. Coat packs down small, so it will join us on our Jackson WY summer packrafting trip where nights get cold. EB's First Ascent gear has only improved over the years and I've realized that most of my outerwear for cold activities is First Ascent. Watching for sales and using member rewards ensures great deals on gear I would compare as better to most major brands. I haven't machine washed the jacket yet, but if it holds up to washing as well as the IgniteLite jackets have, then it will last for many years.
