Great Jacket

Comments about First Ascent|Women|Jackets & Vests Women's Downlight® StormDown® Hooded Jacket:

This jacket is great on it's own or under a hard shell. It's a nice trim fit and doesn't feel bulky. I like that it sheds light rain and snow, but it's definitely not water resistant. It also blocks wind. So even though it's pretty thin, it is quite warm. However, because of the water and wind resistant material the jacket is a little heavier and not quite as packable as other jacket of similar size. The hood fits snuggly over my head and doesn't let wind blow in, but it doesn't come forward quite enough for me. The hood is more for keeping you warm than keeping the weather out. Overall a great jacket for the price. I am 6' and weight about 150lbs and a medium tall fit me perfect.

Too small

Comments about First Ascent|Women|Jackets & Vests Women's Downlight® StormDown® Hooded Jacket:

I bought my first version of this jacket 4 years ago in a medium (which was a tad big on my petite but also broad shouldered and 34D frame) and wore it almost exclusively in Seattle fall/winter/springs until the rain started soaking in all the way. I went to get a new one and the medium was downright tight across my chest! The large was too large. I tried the non-hood version in a medium and it fit fine and like I was expecting. What's up with the sizing snafus, Eddie Bauer?? Really frustrating. I never know what size I am going to be in your coats.

Gorgeous and Warm

By Ashley

Comments about First Ascent|Women|Jackets & Vests Women's Downlight® StormDown® Hooded Jacket:

I'm a bigger girl at 5'7" 38DDD and 200lbs. Ordered the Peacock XXL Tall and I have room to wear a pretty thick sweater under. Being bigger I really don't need a big puffy jacket. This is perfect. I have good mobility and don't feel as though I'm going to be strangled buckling the seatbelt. It's a beautiful shade of deep mineral blue with a slight sheen. It's a breezy 23 degrees today with drizzle and ice and I'm perfectly warm with a tank and light cardigan on underneath. Love this jacket.

      Comments about First Ascent|Women|Jackets & Vests Women's Downlight® StormDown® Hooded Jacket:

I got this jacket originally for a camping trip in Moab. Temperatures were in the 30s at night and this jacket was perfectly warm especially in the early mornings and can be easily packed when you need to shed it for warm day temperatures while hiking. I've also used this jacket at 12,000ft and it was perfectly warm as well. Definitely a hiking staple.
