    Comments about Vert Pack:

I just received this and the Bacon pack. I'm trying to determine which one I like better for side and back country skiing but I don't know how the packs are designed to be loaded! I've messed with both of them and don't have any idea what many of the pockets, straps and openings are meant for. I'd rather not guess, but I can't find any information/photos/videos online. I hope someone can help me or I'll be returning both.

      Comments about Vert Pack:

I was looking or 20L size for day hike and while this pack is little more for the cold weather been it has zipper to hide your hydration hose. Full zipper to open the main compartment is nice and easy to get things. Straps are hidden in it's own packet so that is nice feature when you do not need that don't hang and caught while you are wearing it. Waist strap are typical where you can hide as well. I love that they uses YKK zipper. Zipper are always an issues with of products. Small complaints will be that hydration opening are very tight to fit. If think you use camelback hydration pack it will going better but I tried Osprey hydration pack which has hydrofoam that has back support will be hard to use. Pack has pretty stiff backing foam but I like the feel of Osprey i use with other smaller packs.

      Comments about Vert Pack:

I bought this pack to use as a day pack when trekking in Bhutan. It held my water, extra layer/s, extra socks, snacks, sunscreen when I was on the trail, and held it easily- felt balanced and easy to carry. It has some nice touches which I really appreciate- a zip pocket along the length of one shoulder strap is a fairly unobtrusive and safe place to stash emergency cash, which was really reassuring to me when I was traveling abroad. If I were to change anything, I would make both shoulder straps the same color. Making the strap with the pocket in a different color draws attention the fact that the straps are slightly different and could alert people who are looking for valuables to lift that there is a pocket where one might not ordinarily look for one. However, as there is a lot going on in terms of color and attachments, the difference in strap colors does not jump out at you. My husband seems to frequently want to borrow this pack from me and I am wishing that it came in another color so that I could get one for him that functions like mine, but doesn't look identical to mine. Overall, I am very pleased with this pack .. I do think that some accompanying instructions/ photos would be helpful, as I am not sure how to use some of the attachments.

      Vert Pack

      Comments about Vert Pack:

I could tell this is a quality backpack but just a little too technical for me. I am just getting into backcountry skiing/boarding so I wanted a pack that would be able to carry my snowboard. The strap system is overall not too intuitive and I still have no clue what the one orange clip/piece is for. The inside of the pack is also a little confusing with the pockets that were clearly for something specific I just didn't know what. Lastly, access to the insulated hydration sleeve from the inside of the pack is not the easiest but that is only a minor inconvenience. For someone who is experienced with other backcountry packs I am sure this pack would be a hit, just not for someone like myself...
