Used them last winter for snowshoeing

Comments about Gear|Travel Accessories Trekking Poles - 1 Pair:

After hiking in the Alps last fall without poles, I saw these on sale and decided to order them. I used them several times last winter while snowshoeing, and they worked fine once I learned to get them locked tight. I never did use these for any summer hiking, but they will go with me to Yellowstone for more snowshoeing in February. My husband just ordered a different brand that cost 4 times what I paid. My poles each weight one ounce more than his.

Comments about Gear|Travel Accessories Trekking Poles - 1 Pair:

I have been wanting to try trekking poles for my day hikes, so when I saw these on sale, I decided to try them out. I didn't expect too much based on the price, but they held up well on rough terrain and steep hills. Once I had the poles adjusted, they were comfortable to use, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well they worked. For the price, I would rate these poles as a good value for day hiking.

Comments about Gear|Travel Accessories Trekking Poles - 1 Pair:

Purchased these poles on sale to supplement the hiking my wife and I often do. After 9 miles, my knees sometimes hurt. My friends who have trekking poles are barely even breathing hard after 9 miles. At any rate, recently put them to a real test on Old Rag Mtn and they are LIFE SAVERS. The poles held up very well. They supported my weight on the decent and didn't give up. I have not tried more expensive poles, but with this pole; I don't see a need to! My only qualm: There seems to be more play than I would like inside the extending poles. It makes them feel kind of cheap. But seriously-- feeling aside-- I love these poles!

        Service and delivery comments:

Product was delivered missing one cap to the tip. Unimportant to me; I prefer without the caps.

        Great...if you're a mall walker.

Comments about Gear|Travel Accessories Trekking Poles - 1 Pair:

I bought these in anticipation for a 2 day, 27 mile backpacking trip in Alaska. I read the online reviews, talked to an employee and let me tell you, I was disappointed from the start. These poles had no shocks or give, despite what the packaging said. The locks did not work so I was constantly tightening them every mile or so and actually twice they loosened to the point where they fell apart, once during an uphill climb and once when I was crossing a very slippery snow patch. The bottom rubber pieces came off during the first 3 miles. Needless to say, these are going back for a full refund. I would say you are better off payong the extra money for a set of Black Diamond hiking poles if you are doing anything more strenous than trail walking. It's a tough for me to say because I've always enjoyed EB but your product quality is seriously going down hill.
