      Comments about Gear|Backpacks Shasta Pack:

Purchased this for biking and hiking to replace my water backpack. Was drawn towards the buckles on the back for my helmet but when it arrived today and put it on it the straps were pinching at the back of my neck. The chest strap fit fine with plenty of slack. The waist strap was completely extended and I still needed another 6 inches to be able to actually buckle it. Returning tomorrow.

      several seams ripped

      Comments about Gear|Backpacks Shasta Pack:

first it was just one seam, now it is many of them have ripped to the point of several inch openings in the nylon mesh. I used it as a backpack for communing 2 miles to work on my bike. sternum strap was very useful, shoulder straps were comfy. but for the price it should have lasted much longer. it looked ratty long before it ripped past usable.

      Not worth it, poor quality

      Comments about Gear|Backpacks Shasta Pack:

My review is for the Women's Shasta pack. For some reason it's not on the website anymore and can't post my review there. I was told the women's and unisex one are the same except for the shape of the straps.

I've had this backpack for 4 months and I'm really disappointed with the quality. One month after I got it, I packed the backpack lightly and there was some wear and tear already showing on the straps that only got worse. Since I'm a student I don't have too much opportunity to make it to the mall to have it checked out. But the fabric around the zippers is also showing some wear and tear as well. I'm very disappointed with this backpack, I thought it was a good choice, especially since I exchanged the Cassidy backpack (it was SO lovely and perfect for my small frame, I'm a woman), I was really sad to see my Cassidy backpack go (there was a hole in it) but I regret exchanging it, I should have just kept it and fixed the hole.

I also find that for a 5'4" woman, this backpack is a little too long/tall. I can't help but compare to the Cassidy backpack that was smaller. But what the heck, there nothing I can do at this point. I'm stuck with a backpack I don't like, and can't get my money back for (I don't really care for trying another kind of backpack because they're all too big for me, and nothing fits my needs).

PLEASE BRING BACK THE CASSIDY BACKPACK! or something with similar specs :(
