Comments about Partridge Upland Soft Shell Pants:

I can walk several miles in this pant. The soft shell fabric is great for stretch and soft against the skin. The Cordura overlays make the pant extremely tough against brush. Also, the articulation in the legs is great.

Comments about Partridge Upland Soft Shell Pants:

When I opened the package I was surprised how light weight the pants were. After further looking I realized they are not triple layered anywhere as I was lead to believe they would be. They are sewn to look like they are layered when it is just sections sewn together. Having said that I put the pants on and they were extremely comfortable. They fit good but being 6'4" I would have gotten then in a little longer size if it was an option. They seem to be holding up well to tall grass, bushes and breaking sticks and branches on my knee for fires out in the woods. I think the comfort out ranks Mt khaki or Carhart but for the price I'm not sure the durability is that much different.

        Pros

        • comfortable for all day wear
        • flexible movement in the field

        Cons

        • needs better thread at the seams

        Best Uses

Comments about Partridge Upland Soft Shell Pants:

These pants are extremely comfortable in the field. After 4 trips and over 120 hrs of wearing them through catails, briars and corn fields I still love wearing them. The only issue I have with the pants is that the threading on the inseam where the two different types of material are sewn together needs to be able to stand up better. The stitching started coming apart in the first pair of pants on the second day of wearing them in the field. I returned them to Eddie Bauer without a problem and received a new pair. The second pair did the same thing in the exact same areas. I love the pants so I will be bringing them to someone to fix the stitching with some tougher thread. Hopefully EB will get this figured out!

Comments about Partridge Upland Soft Shell Pants:

I liked the look of these pants, but once I received them, they seemed awfully thin. The cordura overlays are thinner than I expected, and the remaining fabric is quite thin. I would've kept them as a pair of lightweight pants for early season hunts but they were way too tight. I'm 5'9" 175 lbs., and I ordered size 34" x 30" expecting to need a belt to keep them up. As it turns out these pants are cut quite small, especially in the thighs. I would never have been able to wear under armour under them. Overall, I would not recomend these pants. I can't imagine that they would last more than half a grouse season; even if they fit well.
