World's Best Down®

Our First Ascent guide team built this ultralight jacket for alpine climbing in cool to cold weather. Windproof ripstop polyester shell. Each cluster of the super high-loft 800 fill StormDown insulation is treated with a DWR finish so the down retains its loft and superior insulating properties even in wet conditions.

"It adds warmth and insulation no matter where I am and it looks pretty polished too, whether I'm high up in the mountains or I'm in town."

      Comments about First Ascent|Women|Jackets & Vests Women's MicroTherm® StormDown® Jacket:

I just got this jacket and love the way it looks in the Carbon color. Wasn't sure a pattern would work for me when I ordered, but I like it a lot. I'm a redhead and it's a good neutral color I was looking for. Glad it's form-fitting and flattering, true to size in my opinion. Has black stretchy panels that break up the pattern a bit and make it comfortable. Not sure how warm it will be yet...a little thinner than I thought and doesn't totally cover my back end, but probably great for semi-cold days. An excellent value for me at clearance price. I'm always looking for those inexpensive treasures in EB's clearance, and this is one of them for me!

      Most Versatile Jacket

      Comments about First Ascent|Women|Jackets & Vests Women's MicroTherm® StormDown® Jacket:

I have this in the purple pattern, bought it last year and it is the most versatile jacket in my closet. It's super warm for the weight and I wear it everywhere, walking around Tahoe, early morning climbing sessions, out for drinks, it really is the perfect jacket. It stuffs up to a tiny size so it's my go to flying layer, you can shove it into a tiny space in your carry on bag. I get compliments on the colour all the time.

          Comments about First Ascent|Women|Jackets & Vests Women's MicroTherm® StormDown® Jacket:

I loved this jacket and got it at a great price but it's too small in the hips. I had to return it. I'm trying an extra large in a tall and hoping that works. The jacket will be longer but maybe too large in the shoulders. The new sizing has been a struggle. I'm 5'9" and 155 lbs. Four star rating is for sizing.
Can't say enough about the construction of the jacket and it stores in a small inside pocket. I've always loved the function of EB outerwear especially the interior zip pockets.
