Perfect

By Ron

Comments about First Ascent|Men|Jackets & Vests Men's Storm Ops Parka:

I bought an earlier model of this years ago. It has been everywhere from Alaska to all over Europe to Japan, etc., to Colorado, where we live, in every conceivable type of weather. In my view it is perfect. I have never been too hot or too cold in it. Living in Colorado I accumulated a closet full of coats and jackets. I have never worn any of them since I bought this one. Once in a while I check to make sure they still make it just in case I need a new one.

Very good quality. This is a long lasting heavy-duty winter jacket. Materials are a-1. I am very pleased with quality and fit. Tough to find a coat this good.

Comments about First Ascent|Men|Jackets & Vests Men's Storm Ops Parka:

After years of having a 3-in-1 jacket as my primary cold weather / skiing jacket, I decided to get something that did not have removable insulation. My 3-in-1 was fine as a shell but when it was all together it was bulky and a pain to put on and take off. This parka is easy to throw on, very comfortable, while still allowing for a good range of motion. The fit is great as it seems to just wrap itself around you while still allowing for some layers (not that you will need them) and the length is perfect, covering up my often cold posterior.
When the weather drops below 40, it's the perfect thing to wear without requiring you to add any additional layers. While I didn't get a chance to take it skiing yet, I did shovel the drive way with it on. Throwing it over a moisture wicking shirt, it proved to be the perfect amount of warmth and at no point did I overheat. So based on this, I assume it would work for skiing as well, just go easy on the base layers.

A high quality jacket, the cordura patches will withstand skis/skates/brush rubs from tearing the shoulders, waterproof and warm (primaloft), style and quality exudes from it if you examine it.
