losing feathers like crazy

Comments about Men|Outerwear|Jackets Men's 1936 Skyliner Model Down Jacket:

I was happy to find a stylish jacket in a tall size. It fits true to EB sizes, but the quality does not seem up to EB standards. Admittedly, this is my first down jacket. Is it normal to constantly be shedding feathers? Really annoyed to be picking white feathers off a charcoal jacket.

Warmer than expected.

Comments about Men|Outerwear|Jackets Men's 1936 Skyliner Model Down Jacket:

I bought this jacket at Eddie Bauer about 2 weeks ago and have been pleasantly surprised by how warm it's been. We've had some bad weather since so I've had the chance to wear it in both cold and snow. It's been my main jacket since. I'm 5'9" 180, and usually wear either a large or xl depending on the jacket in order to layer, I bought an xl and this seems to fit fine. There have been times where I've had to unzip it when indoors for brief periods due it's warmth. The lining seems a little flimsy and the pockets aren't too deep which is a little annoying but it does have an inner chest pocket that works fine. The zipper is robust to the point of being a little annoying at times when unzipped around the neck.

But, the jacket is indeed warm and very comfortable and did seem to shed light snow. I never noticed it being wet at anytime. Another thing is, is that it seems to breath well, I never found myself sweating. We'll see how it holds up. It's a modest jacket that works well and I can see myself getting a lot of use out of it.

Comments about Men|Outerwear|Jackets Men's 1936 Skyliner Model Down Jacket:

I purchased this jacket for use when driving a car during the winter. I figured the slim fit & short length would work well in a car. In most ways, it performs very well. One drawback is the zipper. Whether I leave it completely unzipped, partially zipped, or zipped all the way, the top portion of the zipper digs, rubs, and chaffs the left side of my throat to the point of the skin being rubbed raw. I like the jacket but I'm thinking at this point it needs to go back.

Comments about Men|Outerwear|Jackets Men's 1936 Skyliner Model Down Jacket:

Not exactly like the 1936 original but this new version is probably better with a knit waistband and neckband. I bought the jacket because It reminded me of my old hunting days when all the outfitters were copying the design...Beans, Cabelas, etc. And it reminded me of when I saw the original 1936 version being worn by Jack O'Connor, the longtime, highly-esteemed shooting editor of Outdoor Life magazine, in a circa 1941 photograph. Though the jacket has pretty much lost its hunting heritage, still a nice, real down jacket. I noticed one of the Santas in a Hallmark movie this year is wearing one. Ha Ha.
