"The bag leverages a time-tested design—the mix of vertical and horizontal baffles was inspired by parent company Eddie Bauer's classic 1950s mountaineering bags—that's been updated with the latest materials and construction techniques...Result? The Kara Koram kept testers warm into the teens in New Hampshire, and one cold-sleeping tester rejoiced that she was warm enough to sleep without socks during subfreezing nights in the Tetons."

"I was skeptical at first, but the lightweight design and classic Eddie Bauer down proved to me that this bag is better than any bag out there. On cold nights high in the Tetons, it kept me warm and comfortable without overloading my pack on the approach."

Comments about Kara Koram™ +20º Down Sleeping Bag:

I got this bag for the John Muir Trail. It performed really well. It's light weight and incredibly compact. It even got wet one day and the down didn't clump when it dried. Some down does get through the pertex material, so a few feathers got into my tent, but its worth it for such a lightweight bag. It was very lofty, and looked just like it did in the pictures for the whole month. Looking forward to taking it on more trips.

Comments about Kara Koram™ +20º Down Sleeping Bag:

OK I'm biased as an employee but honestly if you research this bag vs the equivalent competition, you'll find it to be:
              --slightly roomier
              --lighter
              --made of better materials
--fully featured (compression stuff sack, accessory pocket, etc)
--a better overall value (its no secret that EB has better sales than any other high end specialty gear manufacturer)

Most reputable manufacturers like EB test their bags temperature performance in line with the EU standard, so ratings are pretty honest nowadays. I found this bag to be incredibly soft and comfortable, and warm down to 40 degrees when sleeping exposed (no tent) and with baselayers on. Down remained where it was supposed to, and hood cinched up nicely.

Its a traditional bag, so no gimmicks on shape or odd features. I have both StormDown and Regular versions of the Karakoram and both perform.
