Comments about Igniter +15º Synthetic Mummy Sleeping Bag:

I am not a camper but I love sleeping on my deck during the winter. I have used during the typical Washington mist, drizzle, and a full blown downpour lasting about 15 minutes. My head is under the eve of the building with about 3/4 of the bag exposed to the elements. No moisture has penetrated the bag to this point. The DWR keeps the water beading and rolling off as advertised.

In order to test the claim of insulating when wet I ran the bag through the washer twice (once regular and once inside-out). Just trying to get the bag under water and wet was enough of a task that I have no doubt that you could even use the bag as an emergency flotation device for quite some time. I then put the bag out on my deck in 38 degree weather and jumped in...toasty in no time.

I have only been able to test to 29 degrees so far but have no reason to believe it would not keep me warm at the 15 degree rating and even lower with a good base layer.

After hearing how synthetic bags were much more bulky I was pleasantly surprised how small the bag packs down.

I'm no expert but for my purposes this bag covers it all.

Like all the First Ascent line, it makes me smile knowing I got the best and a great price on sale.

Comments about Igniter +15º Synthetic Mummy Sleeping Bag:

I cannot testify to the durability since I have only been using for a few weeks. I am not a camper but I love sleeping outdoors on my deck in the winter. In the past I had to wait for clear weather. Over the last few weeks I have slept in the normal Washington mist, a light rain and a downpour that lasted approx. 15 minutes. No moisture has penetrated the bag to this point, the DWR keeps water beading and rolling off.

I wanted to test the claim that it insulated when wet so I put it through the washer and had to turn it inside out and run it through a second cycle to even get it damp. I jumped in and was toasty warm in no time with an outdoor temperature of 38 degrees.

I also cannot testify to the 15 degree temp rating but have no reason to think it would not meet that claim. I have slept with most of the zipper open at this point.

I love this bag!
