Made for a skiing style that mixes lift access with sidecountry laps, our Heyburn
functions expertly on chair rides and tree runs with a tough 2–layer 10K/10K waterproof/breathable
shell. Core vents dump heat when hiking and an internal snow skirt seals out deep
As seen in Powder Magazine's 2012–2013 Apparel Guide
"…avalanche forecaster/heli guide Lel Tone helped design First Ascent's outerwear,
so it makes sense that the two–layer Heyburn 2.0 shell feels like it could stand
up to just about anything. Made from First Ascent's proprietary 70–denier WeatherEdge® Plus, it's waterproof
and breathable and won't rip on a high–speed traverse through the woods."

Serious weather protection for those who demand high performance in a wide range of activities. The first number in its 10K/10K rating is the waterproofness; the fabric can withstand 10,000 mm of water suspended over its surface before moisture seeps through. The second number shows its breathability; it allows 10,000 grams of water vapor per square meter of fabric to escape in 24 hours.
Our durable water–repellent (DWR) finish causes moisture to bead up on the surface so it rolls off or evaporates rather than soaking into the fabric.
"The Heyburn jacket is all a girl needs to keep Old Man Winter at bay. The helmet compatible hood keeps out the cold and the wind; the powder skirt keeps out the snow even on the deepest of powder days. The Heyburn jacket is functional style, all you've ever wanted in a ski jacket!"
