Diassapointing

By Murray

from Virginia

Comments about Men|Pants|Active Pants Men's Guide Pro Pants:

I own four pair of these pants and really like the design, cut and fabric. I initially purchased one pair and then three more when they were on sale, since I initially liked the first pair so much. Unfortunately, they have a major flaw - the stitching leaves a LOT to be desired and basically ruins an otherwise good product. In particular, the stitching of the leg pockets, which are one of the features I really like, is ridiculous. They are double stitched all the way around except in the corners where the most stress will be put on the pockets. Here the double row stitching crosses and and effectively there is ONE stitch holding the pocket together. Once that one stitch breaks all the pocket stitching starts to unravel and the pockets develop large holes very quickly. This defect has occurred in in all four pairs I own and cost me a very expensive pocket knife last weekend. It almost seems like an intentional, planned obsolescence type flaw. What a pity, I otherwise really like these pants but can't recommend them or buy more.

Quality at a great discount

Comments about Men|Pants|Active Pants Men's Guide Pro Pants:

Love these rugged yet lightweight pants. Just the right weight for outdoor activities. Nicely water resistant allows walking in long grass and on wet trails
Without getting your ankles soaked. Very happy the Eddie Bower was willing to ship these to Alaska via USPS at a reasonable cost. Most online retailers are too lazy to use anything but overpriced UPS second day air.

On the fence...

By Sean

from Alaska

Comments about Men|Pants|Active Pants Men's Guide Pro Pants:

I ordered these when they first came out a few years back and they are awesome. Great fit! Still have them and wear them all the time although they are wearing out. I'd give them a 5 star in a heart beat but... I recently bought a couple new pairs to replace them and the cut is totally different! The pants are tight and irritating through the butt, thigh, and knee regions. I don't wear them because of the discomfort. Please go back to the original cut Eddie Bauer. These new ones are too much of an athletic cut. I'd almost say men's yoga pants... On the fence about ordering more in the future which is disappointing because they were so awesome!

Comments about Men|Pants|Active Pants Men's Guide Pro Pants:

I so wanted to love these pants. I love the look and the material. But I can't stand the stitching in the knees. There is stitching running across the knee area from each side of each leg... It is so unnecessary. I wore these pants all over South Africa, and the constant rubbing of the extra stitching drove me nuts. I love my Horizon Guide Chinos...but was very disappointed in these Guide Pros.
