Not heavy duty

Comments about Gear|Backpacks Bygone 25 Pack:

This bag looks nice online, but in my opinion, is very chinsy for the price. It is only partially lined. Also, this description of the product is not true "Easy-access lid secured by metal latches"
---false, the hardware on it is plastic. The fabric itself is thin and makes a "crinkly" noise when you're rummaging around in the pockets, because it's not lined. And the fake leather accents are just that. The straps and back are padded nicely, however. I wish the rest of the bag had been made with the same quality. I was thinking it would compare to my osprey, but sadly, it doesn't. I usually trust eddie bauer to make things of high quality, but I have to same I'm disappointed in this product.

Nice looking bag but structure could be better

By True Eddie Bauer Customer

Pros

  • has plenty of space with a lot of storage
  • Love the design

Cons

  • Should have a zipper rather than drawstring
  • The hooks make it difficult to close securely

Best Uses

Comments about Gear|Backpacks Bygone 25 Pack:

Overall the bag has a great design, but needs improvement. I think a zipper should replace the drawstring to make sure the items placed in the bag are more secure. And although the hooks used to close the top flap are a nice touch (and should remain because it compliments the bag design), I think a snap fastener should also be installed right under the flap just like the ones used on to secure the side pockets.

    Very disappointing

    By Alice

Comments about Gear|Backpacks Bygone 25 Pack:

I bought this bag almost a year ago for school and hiking. While I love almost everything about this backpack, it has one major flaw. After several months of use I noticed that the course padding on the back of it was causing all my shirts to deteriorate. Nearly every T-shirt I own now has a patch of pilled and worn down fabric where the backpack rests on my back. I'm disappointed that I spent a fair amount of money on this product and will now have to spend as much or more on replacing parts of my wardrobe. I now only use this backpack when I'm wearing a sturdy coat or a rain jacket.
