The Original Outdoor Outfitter®

A pound and a half of pure bliss, this 28-liter technical summit pack pares down weight to the mandatory minimum for lightning-fast ascents or long solo missions. Interior web skeleton of 15mm nylon webbing extends from top lid, down the front, and ties into the side compression/load stabilizers. Gives pack structure, without tension, and when load stabilizers are tightened, skeleton acts on the entire pack, pulling the load closer.

Loved to Death in Two Months

Pros

  • Lightweight

Cons

      Comments about Bacon Pack:

The Bacon packable backpack was one of my favorite pieces of gear, however, it did not hold up well. I love this pack and used it weekly for nearly two months, but I wish it were more durable. The fabric in the shoulder straps began tearing, so I returned it. Eddie Bauer's warranty is fantastic! And I haven't ruled out getting another one...

        Comments about Bacon Pack:

The bag looks good and is very packable, but the straps and buckles feel too small and fragile. The chest strap couldn't withstand the pressure and kept slipping looser when all I was carrying was water, tripod, camera, and jacket in the bag. I had to keep tightening it every couple minutes if I want a tight fit. I get that the purpose for this bag is so that you can bring it with you and not have to carry the larger 65L+ when bagging a peak or doing a day excursion away from camp, but when the straps can't even hold up to the 10lbs of weight I had in it then that's a problem. The material on the sides near the compression straps is also very thin. I don't think it will take too much rubbing to wear through it. I want to like this pack, but I just feel like it wasn't tested very much and doesn't justify it's high price.
