At first, I loved this headlamp, but when I took gently took the batteries out to replace them, one of the metal battery connections broke off. Now it will only work with tin foil jammed inside to make the connection, and I do not feel safe relying on it for light, If you need a long lasting and reliable product, do not buy this.

Have you ever been trying to fix a leaky pipe under the sink and can't quite get enough light right where you need it? Put on this headlamp and that problem will be solved: light is directed exactly where you are looking and both your hands are free.

I can't count the number of times I've used this headlamp around the house. Yes, you look like a dork wearing this thing, but who cares? It's so useful.

I got this for my honey thinking he could use it for when he works under the house on plumbing stuff. It became the best unintended tool .... We have a black dog, and when she is out for her business late at night, she sometimes wants to dawdle and look for night critters (opossums, skunks, etc). It used to be that finding her was very difficult when it was pitch black out. We started using this, and voila ... there she is ... that big black dog with eery glowing eyes! lol Easier to get her in the house before she gets skunked again. We love this and keep it by the back door for all of the late night outings.

                    Comments about 50-Lumen Headlamp:

I noticed on previous reviews that others also had trouble opening the battery case but no one explained how they finally succeeded. The first time I tried to use the light, I gave up after 5 minutes and used a flashlight. A couple days later I tried again. Of course the directions are mostly non-existent. Press the two end buttons to slide the tray out. No mention of what direction the tray slides to and it is not obvious by visual inspection where the tray actually is. The tray slides out the back.

I ended up using a screwdriver, on one end button at a time, If you push it in and then down (opposite of the direction where the light is) you may begin to see a separation line. I was able to simultaneously push the botton in and also down enough to then insert a screwdriver or wedge device into the slightly open crack and then work that end loose. Repeat for the other end. Hope this helps the next person. I was afraid I would break the thing without ever getting it to work.

Once the batteries were installed, it does work surprisingly well. I am using it for automotive work, under the dash etc. where it is very helpful to keep both hands free. Bought at EB outlet store, I think it was on a bargain rack but at any rate, wish I'd bought a couple more at that price.
