"I could not ask for anything better than for my profession to also be my passion."
–Rebecca Etchen Peters
In the Spring of 2010 Eddie Bauer called Rebecca Etchen Peters and asked her this one question would she reload Sport Shop? With a love for hunting, and armed with an MBA, Rebecca brings a perfect balance of outdoor experience and business acumen to the brand.
As the in-house expert for the Sport Shop, Rebecca adds a feminine perspective to the line. This helps the brand stand out in a market that so often neglects proper comfort and fit when manufacturing women's hunting apparel. In fact, Rebecca tests everything personally to make sure it works for the field.
Rebecca grew up watching members of her family compete. Her great-grandfather was captain of the Olympic Trapshooting team that won gold in the 1924 Olympics, her grandfather was a world-ranked shotgunner from early age to senior vet, and her father is a champion shooter in addition to being Beretta's largest independent gun dealer.
Rebecca has been shooting since she was strong enough to hold a gun. Born and raised in Western PA, 50 miles outside Pittsburgh, her first hunting trip was at age 12 with her best friend and their fathers.
"Works well in the field, but can be worn around town in style." Rececca Etchen Peters
"Has every feature you would get in a men's vest, but the shape and fit is better than any vest I've ever worn.."
Rececca Etchen Peters
As someone who spent years in the field
draped in a Men's Size S, I know how important it is to wear hunting, shooting, and fishing apparel that is styled and shaped to fit a women's body.
That's why at Sport Shop we didn't just take our men's items and shrink themwe started from scratch in order to build truly functional clothing for women. Same features, same functionality, better fit.
We began by looking at the offerings in the sporting marketplace, and quickly realized they didn't accommodate the range of shapes and features of real women's bodies. With that in mind, we designed our line with details such as slits to allow for curvier hips, and brush pants with a rise that you can be comfortable in but that also will work in the field. All the while never compromising the quality and function found in men's apparel.
